Southern Highlands Police are treating a house fire at Moss Vale as being ‘ suspicious ‘.

The two storey weatherboard property at the top of Clarence Street which is owned by former Wingecarribee Councillor Garry Turland went up in flames last Thursday.

Before the fire it had been vacant for a number of years.

Chief Inspector Jason Horne says forensics are still carrying out their investigation.

The home was completely gutted and crews spent the best part of the long weekend cleaning up the site.
