More venues in regional New South Wales have been placed on high alert after a COVID-positive couple travelled from Victoria to Queensland.

The couple spent four days last week in country NSW before first returning positive swabs on Wednesday.

As a result, people who may have come into contact with them while possibly infectious are being placed on alert.

In New South Wales, 11 venues were added to the exposure site list on Wednesday.

That list expanded significantly on Thursday afternoon.
