NSW Health issues COVID-19 alert issued for Sydney after second wastewater detection within a week

Thousands of New South Wales residents are being warned to monitor for coronavirus symptoms after wastewater analysis found fragments of the virus for the second time in less than a week.

NSW Health on Thursday said fragments of the virus had been found in the Castle Hill Sewage Network.

It followed a detection on Sunday.

The catchment receives samples from about 8,400 people in Glenhaven, Dural, Kenthurst, Kellyville and Castle Hill.
