The Aussies to watch at the Olympics on Sunday | The Rural




Already swimmer Emma McKeon sits comfortably in the company of two exalted Olympians. On Sunday she gets a chance to take a seat at the head of the table.

McKeon joins Ian Thorpe and Leisel Jones as Australians with nine career Olympic medals after bagging gold and bronze in the 200m backstroke and mixed medley relay respectively on Saturday.

Five consecutive finals remain on Sunday to close out Tokyo’s swim program.

And Australian swimmers are genuine shots in three of them, with McKeon and Cate Campbell in the 50m freestyle followed by men’s and women’s 4x100m medley relays.

Golf starts the day at 8.30am with Cameron Smith (11th) and Marc Leishman (49th) hoping for a brighter day.
